A Snowball’s Chance Short Track Skate Race

Test your ice skating abilities in a short track ice skating race. Race categories will be broken into heats with the winners advancing through a tournament bracket to the finals.

Scoring & Rules

Racers will compete in heats of up to 4 skaters.
The winner of each heat will move on and compete in a bracket style tournament.

No pushing, shoving, tripping, or physically obstructing another competitor.
No taunting or using inappropriate language.
All judge’s decisions are final.
Violations to these rules will result in an immediate disqualification.

Mandatory Equipment

The Whitewater Center reserves the right to stop any participant from competing if their equipment is deemed unsafe.

Helmet
- Most hockey, bike, or other padded helmets that provide adequate protection are acceptable.
- Can be rented from the Whitewater Center.
Gloves
- Any type of padded gloves including hockey gloves, ski gloves, leather gloves, as well as others.
Ice Skates
- Hockey or figure skates.
- Short and Long Track Skates are NOT allowed.
- A skate rental is included in the race registration.
- The Whitewater Center will not sharpen personal skates.
Participants are encouraged to wear any additional safety equipment/padding they deem necessary.
Participants may use their own equipment.

Additional Information

All registrants will receive a Single Activity Pass for ice skating valid on January 20th.
Each category will be limited to 40 participants.
Competitors must arrive and check in at least 30 minutes before their scheduled heat
Only registered competitors will be allowed on the ice
