Locations

Whitewater Farms is not one location, but rather a collection of touchpoints:

  • Winter at Whitewater introduced Whitewater’s new herd of highland cattle in 2025 at the Whitewater Center in Charlotte, North Carolina. Guests were able to interact with the animals and participate in educational programming. The new members of the herd are in Charlotte for the 2026-2027 winter season, this year joined by two Grayson Highland ponies.

  • Wildwoods has expanded to include an 18/19th century representative settlement that includes a working farm. Henry’s Barn, The Coop and Duck Town connect agriculture to Wildwoods, providing educational programming and the opportunity to engage with the chickens, sheep, goats, ducks and the Great Pyrenees livestock guard dogs.

  • Windfall, in the Blue Ridge Highlands of North Carolina, has been a working farm for over 120 years. The traditional Appalachian farm has now grown to 310 acres featuring highland cattle, horses and chickens- an ever-growing family of livestock.

  • Big Creek Lodge and Middleburg both originated as farms. Big Creek Lodge was a 360-acre working farm in the Mills River Valley and Middleburg grew a mixture of rice, indigo, sheep and cattle along the Cooper River in the South Carolina lowcountry. Both locations now provide lodging and access to renowned outdoor recreation pursuits in their respective regions.
