40+ miles of single track, technical, cross-country style trails.

The Whitewater Center maintains over 40 miles of single track, technical trails primarily offering cross country style riding.  The trails are designed in primarily a series of interconnecting loops.

Use of the trail system does not require an activity pass. The trails are closed when conditions dictate.  The trail status is indicated at the top of this website. The Parkway Trail is available as an all-weather trail when the trail system is closed.

Bike Rentals

Bike rentals are available with an Activity Pass. Single-gear/hardtail mountain bikes are included with a pass and bike upgrades to geared and full suspension versions are available. Closed toe shoes and helmets are required.

How many trails are at the Whitewater Center?

The Whitewater Center trail system is comprised of more than 40 miles of trails on the 1,300 acre property.

Is there a fee to use the trails?

No pass or fee is required to access the trail system.

The Whitewater Center has a $12 daily parking fee (oversized vehicles $25) or $40 for an annual parking pass. Annual Parking Passes are valid through December 31st.

Are the trails accessible at all times?

Trail accessibility is subject to trail conditions and weather. The current and most up-to-date trail status is always available online.

How can I check the trail status?

Trail status can be checked via the website, or by calling Guest Services at 704.391.3900.

Do you have trail maps?

Trail maps are available for viewing on Whitewater Center property and online.

Can I still bike, hike or run if the trails are closed?

A “Trails Closed” indicator means that the public may not access the trail system for any use. The Parkway and Channel Loop trails are available for access at all times.

Do hikers, runners and bikers share the trails?

The trails are shared by hikers, runners, and bikers at all times.

May I bring my dog on the trails?

Yes. Dogs must be secured with a leash at all times. You may run, walk and hike with your dog without a leash within the Off Leash facility.

How difficult are the trails?

We offer a variety of trails that range from beginner to advanced.

What is the difference between a standard bike and an upgrade?

Standard bikes are single speeds, upgrades are multi speed.

Are e-bikes permitted on the trails?

Class 1 eBikes that are pedal-assist only, with no throttle, and have a maximum assisted speed of 20 mph are permitted on the Whitewater Center trail system.

No motorized craft or throttle-assisted vehicles are permitted.
