Trail Running

The low country offers an ideal environment for off road runs through the forests, marshes, and beaches of the region.  The Santee Basin offers a huge variety of single-track trail, as well as hundreds of miles of forest service roads and boardwalks to keep views changing. While the flats of the region amount to consistent elevation and minimal gain, the diversity of terrain will keep runners engaged for miles.

About

Explore multi-surface running locations through Francis Marion National Forest, Bulls Bay, and the Santee Coastal Reserve. Head to Ion Swamp or Awendaw for scenic miles through the marshes and swamp, or head north for long miles through the Swamp Fox Passage of the Palmetto Trail.
