Immersed in Nature
Yoga Teacher Training is offered at the Whitewater Center’s 1,300-acre campus along the Catawba River. This natural classroom setting includes unique opportunities such as SUP Yoga.
Over eight weekends and eight weeknight Zoom sessions, students will learn flow sequencing, asana alignment, yoga history, and more. Course completion allows registration for RYT 200 with Yoga Alliance. The curriculum culminates with an optional teacher audition for those wishing to teach at the Whitewater Center.
Intro to SUP Yoga
Focus and improve balance on a stand-up paddle board.
Art of Vinyasa Flow Sequencing
Learn thoughtful and mindful vinyasa flow sequencing, matching one breath to each pose.
Asana Alignment
Learn how the body is classically aligned in each yoga pose, plus explore accessible options.
Pranayama & Meditation
Explore two limbs of yoga: pranayama (breathing regulation) and meditation. Students learn the importance of breath and how it connects to body and spirit.
Yoga History
Explore Sanskrit, the original language of yoga, and the meanings embedded within the sounds. Students also explore yoga history and stories of the gods and goddesses.
Yoga Philosophy
A self-development course teaching students to use yoga standards to guide their lives off the mat.
Chakra System
Every weekend through the program, dive into one of the seven Chakra energy centers to learn poses related to that center.
Restorative Yoga
Using blocks, bolsters, straps, and blankets to set up the pose, then relaxing into the pose.
Teaching Inclusive and Accessible Yoga
Students will understand the importance of making yoga accessible, diverse and inclusive for individuals across all backgrounds.
Meet the Instructor
Victoria Martinez gained her 500-hour YTT from world-renowned yoga center Laughing Lotus NYC and has received certifications and qualifications for Restorative Yoga, Super Sequencing, Hands on Assists, Chakras, Energy & the Subtle Body, Inversion & Arm Balances, Yoga Philosophy and Ayurveda. Victoria’s passion is in the ability to share these ancient practices and sciences with her students empowering them to gain optimal health and well-being.
Victoria is a certified personal trainer from the National Academy of Sports Medicine. Victoria leads many Friday evening yoga sessions at the Whitewater Center.
The YTT Instruction Team also includes Marcy Braverman Goldstein, Luis Bayon, Lizzie Falkner, Julie Rauschenplat, Shanna Small, and Brian Strahine. Several other guest teachers will also be invited to share their expertise with the class, bringing together the very best teachers in their respective fields and specializations.

FAQ
IS ATTENDANCE REQUIRED FOR EVERY CLASS?
Yes, attendance at every class is required for certification. Any missed hours due to emergency need to be made up.
WHAT ARE MY OPTIONS FOR PAYMENT PLANS?
Full payments can be made over the phone 704-391-3900 or in person at the Whitewater Center Outfitters Store.
Payment plans are also available. A $500 deposit will be due upon registration. The remainder will be broken up into installments.
WHAT GEAR WILL I NEED TO BRING?
A yoga mat and comfortable clothing for yoga.
