Whitewater Kayaking + SUP
Take on Class II-IV whitewater rapids on the world’s largest man-made whitewater river.
The Whitewater Center’s manmade recirculating river offers a highly concentrated series of Class II-IV whitewater rapids. A conveyor belt allows boaters to never leave their boat by continually circulating back to the start. There are a number of different channels offering different types of whitewater experience. The Wilderness Channel features standing waves, holes, and powerful eddy lines while splitting into the pool-drop Instructional and Freestyle Channels. The Competition Channel is steeper, more continuous, and culminates in Big Drop, the stoutest rapid on the course.
The whitewater river consists of 12 million gallons of water pumped up 21 feet in elevation by seven pumps using 680 hp each. The channels are almost one-half mile long, and most paddlers are exhausted after about one hour of paddling. Water levels vary, and water schedules are dynamic. Do I need previous experience to whitewater kayak?
Yes, prior Class III whitewater paddling experience is required. Paddlers must provide their own paddling equipment.

What kinds of water craft are permitted on the whitewater channels?
Whitewater-specific kayaks and canoes are the only boats allowed on the whitewater channels. Private inflatable crafts that are whitewater-specific, such as Catarafts (Shredders, Paddle Cats) and Inflatable Kayaks (Duckies) are also permitted.
Limit of 2 people per private craft. Private rafts, oar rigs and framed inflatable crafts are not permitted regardless of size.
Are kayaks available for rent?
Kayaks are available to demo for $30 / 4 hours for paddlers with experience and who own personal equipment including a paddle, PFD, helmet and sprayskirt.
